Why the oaks?
Isaiah 61: 1-4
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
We believe that we as individuals and we the church need to live this out boldly in our lives, community and around the world.
Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.
We believe kids ministry should be fun but also inviting. We want them to have a deep relationship with the Lord.
The bible says that the children were drawn to Him and we want to create an environment that does just that.
We believe that a community is only as strong as it's families. So we want to prepare people for marriage, work with them while their married and if there has been a divorce then help them heal and love again.
Life throws us curveballs and having support during these times is very important. Everyone needs a little help sometimes and we want to be there for you whatever that may be.
